Background

Jackie Van Ly has been doing photography since 1988, including 4 years of newspaper photojournalism and 4 years of commercial photography. Her formal photography education was acquired through Montgomery College and her passion has been photography since late childhood.

She was listed in the Washingtonian, in the January 2000 issue, as one of the best wedding photographers in the Washington DC area, while working with Artists & Associates.

Jackie Van Ly Photography was started in July 2000. During the first few months of startup, Tracey Brown joined the company and became a leading photographer along with Jackie. Two and a half years later, Jackie Van Ly Photography has earned the recognition of the Washingtonian in the January 2003 Wedding Guide issue, as "artistic, photojournalistic style."

Her style of wedding photography are: the right balance of traditional posed portraits and photojournalistic candids. Jackie has worked well over a hundred weddings and special events in the Washington DC area. She is passionate about her photography and enjoys doing all types of photography.
